Boot latch only opening from key

Featured Replies

Hello! I seem to be having trouble, because a few days ago, my boot latch decided to not open. It opens fine from tke key fob. Next, I dismantled the cover on the boot lid and checked the microswitch and it made contact (I checked it with a multimeter) I don't know where to look next. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance

I found the issue, I was a bit too panicked, it was just a broken wire in the wire loom connecting the boot latch with the body of the cars. I found several other wires that had their insulation broken. Luckily spotted in time. Hopefully helped somebody.

I just wanted to contribute with another solution to this same problem. On my Fabia mk2, it was a slightly corroded connector on the boot switch. I was also able to open the boot with the key fob, but not the boot lid handle switch. I manually «closed» the latch with a screwdriver, then shorted the connector with a piece of wire. This made my boot latch open, so I thought it must be a bad handle switch. But I decided to wiggle the connector, in place (already soaked with penetrating oil), and it did the trick. Simply a bad connection.
