Jacking Pads - Lifting Point Pads

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone got any experience with jacking point protective pads? Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere else, i did search but i couldnt find anything.

I want to jack my superb up to check the wheel bearings, but i only have a trolly jack and i can see this scratching and not being too kind to my underneath due to its raw metal head.

I've found these on amazon that look ok - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pad,Jack-Compatible-Replacement-Protects-Dedicated/dp/B07ZT54NQ2/ref=sr_1_18?crid=20Y7CG8M9FYQX&keywords=jack+lift+pad+skoda+2&qid=1679565822&sprefix=jack+lift+pad+skoda+2%2Caps%2C62&sr=8-18

Powerflex do a set, but these are way too expensive - https://id-workz.co.uk/products/powerflex-jacking-point-insert-4-pack-for-skoda-superb-09-11?variant=41620125155486&currency=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAjwzuqgBhAcEiwAdj5dRulik5bH5e5kisXdLtQkLe7GGevLL2DOSldu-GPOmt9U5NrTN18dzRoCm3QQAvD_BwE

Thnaks in advance for the help 👍😎

I have looked at the Amazon ones but on AliExpress, they are intended for use on Tesla, I'm not sure that they would fit on a VAG model.

Clearly like me you intend using the factory production line carriage points as jacking points, they are very thick metal and I don't think you should be concenrned about scratching, the correct pad which I believe is for the Audi TT would ensure a better location for the jack pad and my interest in them is that they would be way more visible to me and I would not have to get under the car to locate the jack correctly.

I have held off buying the Tesla pads in case they dont fit or would drop out, I require them to remain in place permanently.

If you try them and they work out please report back.

Hi JR, yes i intend to use those jacking areas, not the sills.

I'll update you on my progress. I'll measure my holes for the jacking points, if they are 2.6cm then i'll grab the amazon ones.

I wouldnt need to leave them in situ, i could remove and place wherever i need to jack at the moment in time, so maybe as long as the pad is big enough in diameter i'll just need one and move it around.

I thought the go to jacking pad was the ice hockey puck, I used them on my caravans (and let them go when I sold the 'vans)

I’ve been successfully using my trolley jack on the standard cill point for years using a block of wood that has naturally created a vee slot to fit the cill.

I consider the online slotted plastic ice pucks but never followed up on them.
