Hi all my first post from getting my mk4 octavia a few weeks back but now need roof bars as the dealer didn’t know if my old genuine superb bars would fit which they never.

so I’m wondering  if I got genuine mk3 hatchback roof bars would they  fit a mk4 thanks 

Nope - at least on the estates the Mk3 had raised roof rails whilst Mk4s have flush rails. The bar clamps have quite different geometries.

I'm going to opposite way, tried my mk4 hatch roof bars onto my new to me mk3 yesterday.  They will not fit, the MK3 is just a little bit narrower.

I’m using my ‘67 Audi A4 Avant roof bars on my ‘21 Octy IV and they fit and work a treat
