Car feels strange after cleaning the airbox & filter

Featured Replies

I recently cleaned the airbox and airfilter. I also removed the loose bits that where inside and as a result the airbox screwed firmly shut unlike before it was cleaned. I have also showed a mechanic the airfilter and he said it looked like new so I'm thinking I've done a good enough job.

However since doing that and getting a full car service I'm finding I have to change to lower gears more often than before in order to stop the car stalling and I'm finding it hard to find the biteing point in first gear when pulling off (maybe the clutch is getting old).

Also the trip meter doesnt seem to be reseting itself and it has a little number 2 next to it. I'm thinking this is not related.

you have it set to the overall setting. when your looking at the mpg press the button on the underside of the stick and keep it in. this will put it back to the one trip functoin.

dont know about the other problem though.

Thanks, will try that :).

I'm thinking I may just need to rev the car a fair bit next time I take it out and it'll be fine again. This car doesn't seem to like slow runs.

Sorted the problem with the car trip meter not resetting. There is a reset button. I just had never noticed it before. I also ran the car at 40 mhp in 2nd gear for a while. That seems to have helped a little. One more fast run and it'll be back to normal.

I think the problem was I was 2k mile late in getting the car serviced :o.
