This is my first post on the forum although I've been lurking for a while.

Just bought a Fabia Comfort Estate 1.4 TDI. Has anyone retrofitted a set of the OE roof rails to one of these?

I'm assuming it is difficult, but not impossible and I'm told the roof lining has to be dropped down, so any pointers would be appreciated.

Fitted them to Octavias, with regard to the roof lining you only need to free it up enough to get access at the sides, a case of unclipping the side trims and removing the grab handles and seat belt upper mounts. Not complicated, just time consuming and time is what you will pay for at a dealer.

A pair of rails are circa £160 so this isn't going to be a cheap conversion to do.

I know that, but the wife say that she likes them, so it will have to be done ;-)
