Recently steering warning light has come on with loss of power steering.

This goes out and the power returns . What are my options any ideas on cost of replacing pump or rack at dealers

Far more likely your battery is dying. Power steering cuts outs out if voltage dips too low.

Check the battery voltage. Maybe try recharging it for a minimum of 24 hours.

Hi tried this changed battery for new one still have problems. The car has no power steering when light is on.The light can go out even when car is stopped at a junction then park it turn ignition of and when you turn it back on the light is back on . thanks.

I'd say under £200 at a good local fast fit outlet for a new battery.
