Scanning codes

Featured Replies

I have been trying to scan fault codes on 06 Roomster 1.0 with cheap vw obd scanner but not getting everything stored I think.

is there some download software or some other way to do this better?

I think the freeware version of VCDS will work on your car with a suitable, cheap FTDI interface cable.

Download VCDS Lite from ross-tech.com and buy a suitable cable from ebay etc for <20 euro.

Your car has the necessary k-line connection to the diagnostic socket socket.

As do all mk1 Fabia and mk2 Fabia pre-March 2010.

I think Roomster probably also has until March 2010 as it is basically the same car as Fabia.

I started a thread about this in mk2 Fabia forum and some people confirmed that it works.

So will I need a particular type of obd2 to usb cable to make this work with that pin or will any cable be ok with the correct ends ?

Put "kkl cable" into your preferred shopping outlet search box and pick one.

Preferably one that comes without pirated software on a CD etc.  Much better to download the real vcds lite from ross-tech.com, it is far less likely to include spyware.
