Skoda fabia 2016 1.4 tdi

Featured Replies

Hi my fabia 1.4 tdi 2016 with 80000 miles is really rough on cold start it sounds like it is down a cylinder for a minute then it is fine all day great mpg and starts fine until its cold again no warning lights on the dash was wondering if anyone had a similar problem. Thanks

Welcome.

Sorry not a clue, but has your air filter been replaced, do you know the state of it?  Maybe check.

Has the Fuel Filter been replaced?

You were getting Winter Spec Diesel up till April, maybe still are. That makes no difference really, & usually i think 'Special Diesel ' is a waste of money.

I filled up the other week in error with it at Gulf when there to get regular diesel cheaper than Asda's just along the road.

Now i am sticking with paying the 50 pence a gallon (9-11 pence a litre) extra because my old diesel is running so well on it.

Hi thanks i have changed the fuel filter recently but not checked the air filter I will hopefully get a chance later to check it I am doing around 450 miles a week and the car is faultless apart from cold starts. Thanks

Scan it and perhaps see a glowplug fault that isn't bad enough to yet put the fault light on.

Similar thoughts to @Breezy_Pete about a weak or failed glow plug.
