Skoda Superb Mk3 2.0 tdi 150 bhp

Featured Replies

Hello all I just had my 2017 Skoda superb serviced and noticed there was oil over the dog bone mount and on the tray as well not a huge amount but noticeable. I was just wondering if any of you had any ideas what this might be my mechanic said it looked like it might be coming from in between gearbox and engine.

it’s done 45k

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like the crank bearing seal could be leaking.

Usual way to tell is by smell, gear oil is very distinctive ( and usually quite clean ) and always reminds me of Gin(?)

Thanks for the reply and it was definitely engine oil. So that would make sense.

For what it's worth, my crank bearing seal  is also leaking but at the other end.

It was picked up during the last oil change. My mechanic says it's only slight at the moment so I'll deal with it when it finally goes back in for a new clutch pack.

Yeah mine said the same it’s more of annoyance knowing it’s there.
