Hello all. 

 

I recently purchased a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi Elegance, which has a whooshing noise coming from inside the cockpit at approximately 0.5-1 second intervals e.g whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh... And so on. You cannot hear the sound from within the engine bay. The sound goes away when the air conditioning is switched on, and reappears when it is switched off. There is no change in the sound when depressing The clutch. The sound is present when idling and when driving. The sound is also getting slightly worse, but varies each time I use the car (from worse - better - worse ect). 

 

Please could someone offer some advice on what this could be, and what issues could arise if I left it?
