Update Columbus unit or replace

I have recently bought a 2012 superb that has the Columbus unit it the car.

im undecided what to do with it, I like the integration with the dash but find the sat nav clunky and out of date (I've been used to car play so this is quite a departure)

can I update the maps on a unit this old it would I be better off swapping the head unit out for an android one that has car play etc.
