Tailgate wont work right after being pushed

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,
Hope someone here can help me out.

So I have a Skoda Superb 3 from 2017 that have the electronic tailgate with easy open. Everything have been working fine. But then today the tailgate was open and was unfortunately pushed halfway down manually. Since then it havent worked right. we tried to press the closing botton afterwards and it went down about 20cm.

Then we tried to push it again and it started make some strange sounding 3 beeps. Let it sit for a bit and then when pushing the botton it went down by 2cm and stops, pushing it right after it again goes with 3 beeps. Let it sit for a minute and then it again will go down 2cm and stop.

Same stuff for going up.

It does have a code when checking with VCDS. The code is uploaded.

Hope someone can tell me if its the motors that have been destroyed or if it just need to get reset/readjusted with VCDS.

Have you tried clearing the code and retesting?

If not, I’d assume the sensor in the strut has failed so it’s not able to self regulate its position
