Child lock error

Featured Replies

I've had "electronic child lock fault" coming up on my Skoda superb  , booked it into Skoda who charged me £200 for "diagnosis and software update" which cleared the error. 3 months later the same lock is locking and unlocking itself again and again so I took it to my local garage who diagnosed a faulty passenger door lock. 🤔

I have recently had issues with both passenger side doors. The locks in general sound quite clunky and will intermittently stop working when locking the car. Same diagnosis that I need new door locks.

I've priced the door locks with the Skoda dealership... £228 each with a further £400-500 in labour due to the doors being riveted.

Looking around online it looks like most non OEM door locks available are only for left hand drive models. Does anyone know where the locks can be sourced other than the dealership?

And it’s exactly reasons such as this which means I’ll never use a franchise dealer again…

I had mine go faulty again and took it to my local independent garage, they fitted a new lock £180 plus labour.

@peterposhany idea where your local garage managed to source the parts? I have checked with a few local garages and they suggested the only place they can get the locks is from Skoda, so it won't be much cheaper.
