P0601 error code issue

Hi good folks,

Hope some expert members can help me. I have a 2006 MK2 Octavia 1.6 FSI auto which popped up the EPC and Engine light 3 weeks ago. Took it to a local garage and they replaced the crankshaft sensor as one of the error codes stated that as the issue. Despite the new sensor, both lights remain lit but the car seems to drive OK. The local garage cannot work out the issue anymore so I was wondering if there is a local  recommended diagnostics centre/garage/ local member who may be able to figure out the problem. Don't think I can afford a dealers fix if they say needs new ECU etc based on other members past experiences. I am in IG1 postcode in Essex.
