New global engine maker to have headquarters in UK.

Featured Replies

No idea how many jobs that will be in the UK as it is just the headquarters.

There must be some benefit to them in this.

No mention about manufacturing in the UK in this from the BBC.

Must be some fiddle/reason.nowhere cheaper than China to produce cars

They aint goin to be making them there, they want to be as far away from the coal face as they can, with manufacturing in 17 countries what better place than the UK? It will be the last country in the world to actually manufacture anything.

I heard Spain as HQ with the other 6 sub branches at places all over the world but not UK.

I would expect some Geely-Renault work and integration of Geely-Renault parts for the London Cab and van business up at Coventry and helpfully using some of the fine brains at UK universities such as Aston.

Shame the UK so often fails to capitalise on it engineering prowess except in those elite areas like Aston and McLaren.

We'll have to wait a few years for teh next headine that it was basically a scam to get get tax breaks and grant money.

like the gigabattery factory. Billions spent, a few rich people getting much richer but nothing sold and no customers.
