Possibly a stupid question - but is the ABS light meant to flash during activation under hard braking? 

 

Mine does not flash but I am almost certain the ABS is kicking in. 

 

The manual mentions that the ESC light will flash during activation, but doesn't say that for ABS and just says that if the ABS light is on, then there is a fault (not the case here). 

 

The light illuminates when the car is started, there are no faults, and I have confirmed the pump is working with Vcds. 

 

Assuming this is all normal but wanted to double check as I would have expected the light to flash... 

The ABS indication does not flash under hard braking or activation of the system.

Sadly no; in fact you're not even meant to feel the kickback much these days.
