Roof rails

Hi all

We have a 2023 Skoda Kodiaq (ambition Ireland spec). I bought a set of roof bars from a reputable and normally reliable retailer online using their part search function.

Anyway, tried to put the bars on this afternoon and for the life of me, I couldn't get them to fit properly. The rails are classed as Raised Roof Rails but the profile is is weird insofar as there is lip/recess edge which means the roof bars don't snuggly fit the rails. I suspect that the rails require flush/solid feet to properly grab the roof rails. Has anyone any similar experiences?
