Awkward noise when starting the car

Featured Replies

Ever since the heatwave came over Europe, the moment I am starting the car and the AC starts, I keep hearing a strange noise sounding like a rubber / pastic being moved with force somewhere in the middle of the dashboard, underneath the infotainment.

First, only the noise is driving me nuts.

Second, I am not sure if it will break something inside the car.

the car is a 1.5 mild hybrid automatic transmission.
is this a normal behavior which i should learn to live with, or should i book it for investigations after my vacation?

Try switching the climate control manually to each setting in turn: feet, windscreen etc, allowing about 30 seconds between each, also try max and min temperature

From your description sounds like one of the motorised flaps, and this might force it to move.   If it still doesn't afterwards then a flap needs fixing.
