I am new to briskoda.net and have just purchase a 2000 (x) Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI Comfort (AC) and after previously having a car with remote central locking I am missing it :(.

Please excuse me if I am missing something, but I have seen a few threads on this but nothing definitive.

The car currently comes with central locking and I would like to add the remote capability (which is standard with the Elegance model, I belive). I have had a look at ETKA and found this a product code BKA 400 001 A, which has a remote box, soom wiring loom and switches? This should do the job and according to skoda is only 70 pounds which is reasonable. Unfortunately with Skoda doing the labour it is a couple of hours work and suddenly IMHO not worth doing.

Has anyone done this them selves?

Do you get instructions with the kit?

How hard is it?

Also can you then get a Skoda Flick key for this device, get it cut and reprogram it for this device?

Also as the boot has a solenoid in it, can you unlock this remotley? I know the car boot unlock is cable, but the boot handle is electronic.
