Skoda all in and warranty (Uk owner)

Featured Replies

Hi there,

In February 2023, I bought a used Skoda Kodiaq from 2019. In a few months, it's time for my first service. A local Skoda garage in the UK has priced this at around £520.

As my Kodiaq is an approved used Skoda, I also have a 1-year warranty included. I would like to extend my warranty after the end of it next February.

I have seen that there is currently an offer called Skoda All In that offers a 2-year warranty and also 2 services for £840. However, apparently I can only sign up for this promotion around February when my warranty is going to expire. That means that I will need to pay for my first service in full.

The only other workaround is to buy 2 services for £480 and buy the warranty separately, but that would be an additional £340 per year.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Welcome.

What engine & gearbox has it?

What servicing was done in 2020, or 2021 / 2022,

Has it had much carried out at 3 years old and to the manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines, Specification or Schedule.

?

Has the Haldex been serviced already?

Has the brake fluid been changed?

Has it had the pollen filter changed twice already?

Was all Service items done up to date for you buying it in February & what service is it due soon, @ how many miles?

Looking at the many posts including recent ones on Briskoda about 'Skoda All in' might be an idea.

Kodiaq Section, Karoq section and others.

Hi toot,
thanks for your answer. Under the service history, I have:
feb 2023 Used Car MPC
August 2022 Oil change service
October 2021 Inspection service
September 2020 Inspection Service

all of them performed from Skoda, in the car there was a service plan included.

Current miliage is around 42000, I should still have 3000 - 4000 miles until next service.

I would go for the all in skoda, but that means that for my first major service I will need to pay the full price: £ 520 as I have been told that I can't sign for the 2 service pack and the all in at the same time.

Do you have any suggestion, how to save some money?

Make sure you get an Extended Warranty with Skoda / VW for the best price you can and maybe that will be the All in one.

They have a Warranty on the car but they should have had a Haldex Service carried out if no record of it.

Is there a record of the Haldex having been serviced.

I would be asking Skoda UK or a dealer for the full Service & Warranty History.

Maybe some proper servicing and maintenance needs doing.

Is it a 1.5 TSI, DSG or something else?

I suggest that it might have a Full Main Dealer Service history but not a history of serviced to the manufacturers guidelines, recommendations, specification or schedule if there is no record of the extras.

Oil, filter and inspection services year one and 2 were correct then year 3 should be the Extended Service.

'Multi point check' of a used car might well mean no servicing was carried out since the 'Oil change service was done in the previous August'.

They would say no servicing due, maybe they topped up the oil and coolant and inflated the tyres, but no guarantee even that gets done at a MPC.

Look the air filter and see if clean.

Best look at the pollen filter and see how that looks.

You could delay servicing requirements by switching to variable service intervals (up to 2yr  / 18600 miles). Ideally should have been reset at last service, but a chat with your Skoda dealer might help and possibly you need confirmation with Skoda UK.

Interestingly, even though the all in package gives you 2 years warranty and breakdown cover the service part of the deal is 2 services and when I spoke to Skoda UK they  informed me the end date of the agreement shows a 4 yr limit in place for this. ie 2 x variable interval services
