Has anyoe see the film yet? seen it last night and i would recommend that you see it the stunts are fab. it was so cool to watch. think i might need to be looking into this drifting looks like a lot of fun!!

just though i would share that with you all.

deffo high in my list of things to see

Although I know it will still be dumb, I've heard that the racing and cars are better than the previous two movies, especially the first and last racing scenes.

The only way you'll get drifting is with a rear wheel drive car so forget using a Skoda.

I'll be off to see this within the next week, gotta love drifting:thumbup:

It's high on my list, right after learning swahili and having my eyes plucked out with red hot pincers.

The first film was rubbish, the second so bad it was hilarious. I'll give this one a miss thank you or at least wait until it's on sky so I don't get seen by anyone going into the cinema or blockbuster to rent it..

Get a rapide with a Fiat twincam in the boot... drift king!! :D

Well, ok it is possible to do a little tail slide in a front-wheel drive car but not continuously. Those were some interesting Skoda videos but I suspect they used the handbrake a fair bit. Still, it was good to see.

I went to see The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift on Saturday and loved it. I thought it was much better than the first two. Sure, it's a silly plot-less film but the driving scenes are far more realistic than before and some of the cars are pretty cool. The lead girl is also damn hot!

What are the lead cars this time around ??

Octavia estate Elegance 2WD 1.8T iirc.
Octavia estate Elegance 2WD 1.8T iirc.

LOL! Could you imagine if that were true... an estate too.

The main cars are:

Nissan 350Z (looking very good),

Mazda RX7 with fantastically wide body kit (the best looking car in the movie) and not obvious when you first see it - I couldn't tell what it was initially.

Mazda RX8

Ford Mustang

Dodge Viper

Nissan 200SX (in a very weird bodykit and again, unrecognisable)

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

Monte Carlo

There's also a cool green MPV modified to look like a 'Hulk' car but I couldn't quite tell what it was - it looked a bit like a small Mercedes A class.

The first was lame and the second was the most embarassing film I've ever spent money on watching.

-I doubt I'll be watching the latest...

Real cars being driven really fast and skillfully is where it's at, not sped-up film and cartoon CGI animation.

I would like a rear wheel drive car though, it's a poty that most are now fwd.

That's the main reason why this film fairs better than the previous two. There's less neon CGI and artistic effects used to make the racing look faster. Most of the driving is fairly believable because there are people who actually had to drift around with the skill and control that is displayed on screen. It's less about unrealistic speed and more about driving ability.

I would recommend it for the cars and racing alone but as a film of course it's not very credible. The usual poor dialogue, character presence and amoral and materialistic themes are present. At least it's not afraid to have fun, unlike the first two which took themselves too seriously.

One for Orange Wednesdays then ;) Buy one ticket get one free.

(Orange users text "film" to 241 to get a code that needs to be shown to the box office staff)

It may be 'buy one, get one free' but that means 1) even though it's half price, you still have to pay to watch the drivel. and 2) someone else has to endure the film with you.

it also has Keiichi Tsuchiya(the real drift king) in it :D (he was the guy in the blue fishing)
