Felicia Overheating

Featured Replies

Hi! I have a Felicia 1.3 and some problem with the water temperature. I made some test ( All fuse are ok) and at the beginnig I think there was a problem with the radiator fan but, when I test the water sensor and the radiator fan I discover they are ok.

At this point I think there's a problem with the connection from the sensor to the radiator fan but I'm not sure.

Anyone help?

Thank you!

Sorry for my english

Is it overheating?

Thanky for your reply johnh510.

What you say to me is bad. :( Yesterday I tested the fan with the way that you have written

>If you unplug the wiring from that switch, you can bridge the terminals inside >the connector which plugs onto the switch with some thick wire,

>MAKE SURE YOUR FINGERS ARE AWAY FROM THE FAN!

>If the wiring is OK the fan will run, even with the ignition switched off.

But nothing. Now I go and retry this test with peacefulness.

Thank you!

Simone

Check if there is +12 volts on the yellow wire into the plug which fits on the switch.

Use something like a headlight bulb between the yellow and ground/earth, rather than a voltmeter - you need to see if the wire can provide some current. A lamp like that needs 5 ampere to light up.

If you use a meter, it will show a voltage through a bad connection, even though the same feed can't give enough amps to run a motor.

If there is a good supply, either the ground/earth is missing on the fan motor, or the motor is broken.
