Engine overheat warning

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a skoda rapid 2016 1.4 tdi. Lately the overheat warning light has been coming on.

Taken it to 2 garages and they are unable to locate the problem. Engine is fine. No leaks and coolent system is fine.

Any suggestion what the problem could be? Is this a common problem.

Could be the same thing I had. Does it start overheating but then fixes itself (i.e. by the time you reach the garage it's no longer overheating)?

Apply a logical sequential approach.

The first thing to establish is whether the engine is actually overheating, regardless of what the warning light is saying.

Have you an OBD2 scanner that will allow you to monitor fluid temperatures while you're driving?
