Windscreen Washer Unit Replacement

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was wondering why my windscreen washers were not getting any action even though I refilled with screen wash.

Looked under the bonnet and saw that when I was filling there was leaking in the engine bay, turns out the plastic connecting pipe to the filling unit is completely done, I mean dust. The previous owner had disguised well with black duck tape which was keeping this connection together.

Can the unit be replaced by a novice or is it better to go to a mechanic for it?

Is it expensive to buy a new unit or do I need just a part?

Any help is appreciated as always.

Cheers

Hoping these photos will help to explain my rambling above. Can anyone tell me what this connecting pipe is called, where I could get one (I’m based in Sydney) and if I can replace this myself?

It looks like it could be connected and disconnected easy enough, the rest of the unit works fine as far as I know.

Cheers

I believe the filler neck detaches from the tank. Have a look on an online parts catalogue like 7zap and it should show you.
