Cold first start problems -octavia 2017

Featured Replies

My car only starts after 8 or 9 attempts then you have to keep the revs at 1500 for a while before you can move then when warm a large  puff of smoke comes out then it is fine all day any ideas why it will not start no codes coming up thanks

Have you considered you might need a new battery because of a low cranking speed?

Is it a very cold start and how long has it been sat there?

Sounds like the glow plugs are not working properly, hence the smoke.

How are you checking for codes?

No codes coming up

I asked how you were checking for codes. Are you using vcd's or obd11?
