Which oil grade for Citigo?

Featured Replies

My wife's Citigo is due a service. The manual specifies the difference between fixed servicing and variable servicing, VW 502, 504, 508 etc but, surprisingly, it doesn't specify what grade I should use. Last year I used 5w30, but some sources suggest 5w40 grade. We live in Yorkshire so average weather/temperature patterns. Can anyone please advise on which grade is better

Only surprising if you don't realise that conforming to the correct 50n 00 rating automatically means the oil has suitable cold/warm viscosities.

These may vary by a little but as long as the 50n 00 is suitable for your engine and service regime, all will be well.

They are Fixed Oil & Filter Services but came with Long Life Oil, so VW504 00 / 507 00,   5w 30 FS III

VW502 00 can be used.  5w 40 FS. Fixed Services, not long life.     ( Not VW508 00 / 509 00  0w20 FS IV though.)
