I thought there was but I couldn't find it in the manual this morning. I basically want it to store energy while I drive. Usually it doesn't store more than 3 or 4 miles worth.

I'm guessing I either didn't explain this very well or it's not possible?

For sure there's a setting for that,
the only problem is I can't guide you through the Octavia Menu. My Octavia had an ICE.
However, on the Formentor which has the identical hybrid system from VAG, I can "reserve" a certain percentage of battery, or even more, if the battery is low or depleted, I can ask the system to charge the battery using the ICE.
This is surely possible on Octavia too.

Many thanks. I knew I'd read it somewhere but couldn't remember where.

It's a shame it resets to auto every drive. For example doing long drive and want to charge up a bit for when I get to destination town to go into electric, every time  it stop at services have to set it again

Yes I've noticed that. If you have it in hybrid mode will it still discharge to zero eventually?

It seems that way but think it keeps a small bit of reserve it doesn't show you on the dash. So it's though to creep around your neighbourhood just before you get home which is nice for your neighbours if you get back late at night. 

There seems to be a bug whereby if you make sure you put it in hybrid mode each journey and uncheck the box so that the minimum charge level is always what you set it to the charge always drifts down a level each journey.
