My S3 is not closing completely (to the click stage) when I press the close button on the tailgate or using the key fob, so the dash shows that it is not closed and sounds an alarm. I now have to give it a firm push to close completely. Has anyone has a similar problem and identified a cheap & quick solution? Many thanks!

Strip the inside of the boot out, check to see the cable hasn’t came away (the ends break off) or can you hear the pull close motor operating after it’s on its first latch?

or the final possible cause, is it pulling tight and then going loose again, in which case it’s the latch itself
