Recently bought a Monte Carlo 1.6tdi 2014 with 83000 miles. Had a 1.2 2011 tsi, still go it, now selling. Put a new battery in the tdi. Is a remap worth it or will it kill the engine at that mileage? I want the performance and gains but without blowing it up. It had a lady owner for years so it’s not been driven hard and mostly motorway miles. Any other advice on what is a common thing to fix? There is some corrosion coming through on the window seal(if that’s what it’s called) can this be replaced and who does it? Front bottom right fog light cluster has bad condensation. Previous owner drilled a

hole in it to fix. Is it worth replacing it and can it be done without taking the bumper off. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 

The window rubber can be replaced but the corrosion is on the door so you need to do rust removal, inhibit the rust and then prepare and paint.

Common issue covered here over the past 10 years.

 

As to the car and remap.

Best see if the car had the Emissions Fix and the flow device fitted in the air intake.

That would need rolled back.
