ecu / feuling problems octy

Featured Replies

Hi guys/gals, Father has read in the parker guide, that the 110 diesel has ecu problems leading to major fuel comsumtion..... has any body had any problems or comments??

I think it may have been on really early cars. I certianly havent changed any in my two years on Skoda.

hmmm, pretty sure it was a recent edition of parkers, saying the octy tdi had issues????

Nope mine doesn't, excellent fuel econonmy (average 60+ to work and back) and it still pulls like a train.

I also believe it was some early 110 TDI's for some reason the ECU that ends with BM sounds familiar think they replaced it with oine ending with GQ. Think it was overfueling which lead to the intercooler and other bits filling with gunk which needed cleaning out along with the EGR system.

The only fuel consumption problem I had with mine was when I left the air filter change until 40k as specified by skoda. Never again, change it every 10k now as the thing cost me about 10MPG when it got all clogged up.,

IMHO the Parker's guides are about as reliable as a bucket with a hole in the bottom.

I wouldn't go that far, but they certainly don't clarify things with useful information like 'early models'.

I forget what they said about one car i owned, but it was utter crap as the part they describes are prone to brakeing had been under a recall for that reason and I doubt there were any cars in existance that still exhibited the problem. A simple bit of clarification saying check the recall for this has been carried out would be more use.

As far as Skoda reliability goes, there is a good owners forum on the web somewhere - not sure what the address it though

it's brisk something, can't remeber what though :P
