USB<->Serial converters are often unable to handle the baud rate and timing requirements that are demanded by many control modules using the VAG protocol. We have had very poor results with most available USB<->RS-232 converters, therefore USB<->Serial converters are "Not Supported." Please do not ask us for technical assistance if you are using one of these converters.

I download version 311-2 and it seems to be working now.

Are there any major differences between 311 and 409.

obvious question perhaps - but was the obd plugged into the car?

- it has to be powered to be found as an interface.. so no car connection - no interface, but the port is there...
