Fabia Tyre Pressures

Featured Replies

Yes - the subject has been discussed before, I've just checked the threads. But I can't find an answer to my query. The tyre is a 185/60 R14.

We've just got a secondhand Fabia 1.4 75kW 16V Saloon and the petrol cap states pressures of 2.2 for the front and 2.1 for the rear.

The garage sent the car out with pressures of 2.0!

I've just put them all up to 2.1 but am just a tad bewildered as to what the *right* pressures are for an unladen car as above.

 Anyone give me any advice (if there's no definitive answer)?

Thanks. Kath.

There's usually a sticker inside the fuel flap that will give you the lowdown on the tyre pressures, albeit in 'Kpa' (kilo pascals) rather than lbs or bar etc.

You could always try the Michelin, Dunlop or even Kwik-fit websites - I've found these useful in the past.

Handy tyre pressure conversations:

Bar to PSI = multiply by 14.5

KpA to Bar = divide by 100

KpA to PSI = multiply by 0.145

Hope you'll find this useful.
