Internal door handle light. I think it’s blown. Any saving it?

Very annoyed with myself. My driver side internal door light wasn’t working. Ordered the new part, and the black wire has disconnected. 
 

I think it’s attached to a capacitor of some sort. When I shoved the black wire back in, it came on briefly then went out for good. 
 

is there any saving it at all? 
 

Cost me £15 so to spend that again would be a right pain
