Octavia Mk4 quiet audio via Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've recently become an owner of Octavia Mk4 iV and comparing to my previous car I noticed immediately that audio is significantly quieter especially when using Android Auto. Car is equiped with stock audio system, upgraded one wasn't even on the list when placing the order.

Been digging through options and found that Bluetooth audio is set to quiet without me being able to change it (option is greyed out, not very visible on the picture). Has anyone else had similar experience and found a way to get this changed/unlocked or had to involve the dealership? I've sat in my mates car, same spec but 22 model and difference in sound was uncomparable and option was in fact unlocked but he never touched it.

The setting is inactive most probably because your phone is connected by other means (Android Auto). So go to Media/Radio from main menu, there go to Settings, select Bluetooth audio device and there select your phone. It will ask you if you want to switch back to Bluetooth instead of Android Auto, click Yes.

This will make the setting active. Though via Android Auto it will still be quiet I think.

Anyway, I think same as in all previous Skodas, the best quality of sound is if you play media from SD card/USB stick. And with default sound system of Octavia it is nothing spectacular anyway, the sound is quite bad.
