Skoda Rapide Sports Service

Featured Replies

My last Service was at end of April 2033

A warning came on a week ago that I need an oil check and service within 28 days

Now 21 days

Is this a full service

What is covered in a full service

Do I wait until end of April

Or get it done in 21 days time

I have only done 8000 miles since last Service

Car Reg date is 2016

I'm thinking of getting it serviced in a non Skoda Garage

Any downsides to this

2023?

If it was reset then the Oil & Filter service should be due in 372 days / 9,400 miles if on Fixed Servicing.

Get it serviced where ever is good for you and they do actual work.

No such thing as a Full Service other than the BMW / Merc ones that were the Big Service.  All Fluids, Belts, Bulbs etc etc.

So maybe a Major, or an Oil & Inspection with Extended Scope.

So when were the Spark Plugs changed, the brake fluid, the pollen filter, the air filter. ?

Bottom green chart the old way they were, Minor / Interim & Major time about.

Not sure what you mean by 2023 ?

The car was last serviced at the end of April 2023

The warning now says

Oil check and service required by 21 days

I'm assuming this is the annual service

In April 2023 the following items were completed

Oil Service

Spark Plugs

Brake Fluid

Plus

Cambelt

Do I just do the above again

But not Cambelt

As the item you mention

Oil and inspection service

Car is now about seven years old

Mileage is about 33000 miles

Look at the first line of your post, you put 2033,  so i posted 2023?

We need to assume it is the Annual Service coming up after 9,400 miles or 372 days if it was reset at the last service.

But if it was on Variable 2 years ago and not reset 12 months ago then it could be coming up for in 21 days.

If the stuff above was done a year ago then it is a Oil & Inspection service needed.

Oil & Filter, maybe the pollen filter if not changed last year.

The spark plugs are every 4 years or 40,000 miles so not needing done again.

The brake fluid every 2 years if it needs changed, it can be tested.

The Cam Belt interval is no longer at 5 years or 50,000 miles.  more like at @180,000miles, and many many years.

You just need a simple Oil & Filter Service and inspection and do not get ripped off and the Service Indicator set to Fixed Service Intervals.

Look at the Air Filter and see if clean / fresh, it might need replacing.

Thanks Rooted

My error re date

Hadn't noticed it

I spoke to Skoda Garage

It's the annual basic oil change and new filter and an inspection

Don't need to do brakes or sparkplugs until next year

Said it would cost £225.00

What's your thoughts on this

They have full service history

The other garage I have in mind will not have this info

Do you think this matters

Thanks for your previous help

@Jockster52  personally i do not think there Full History or check tick list is worth much.  Not worth £225 for and Oil change and look see.

I prefer an Invoice and receipt from local garages that do stuff to the car.

The Spark plugs are each 40,000 miles, why would they be due next next year unless that is 40,000 miles since the last change.

Pollen filter area cleaned and a filter fitted matters, or a shake and vacuum and at least checked, same with the Air Filter.
