Can you get a 4x4 petrol vRS estate?

Featured Replies

I’m confused. After the unveiling of the facelift, I received some unwanted banter from a mate of mine who loves to poke the bear. He’s giving it the usual looks way better than yours and more powerful etc. the swine is right!!!

but, he said one thing which now puzzles me - he said why didn’t you go for the 4x4 vRS. Is that only diesels or can a petrol cars estate be a 4x4? If it’s just diesel I guess it’s the weight of the lump on an engine, but my petrol could do with 4x4 tbh and if it’s a thing, maybe getting on the list for the facelift as a 4x4 is some sort of crazy decision waiting to happen? Thanks in advance for the clarification guys. Uk by the way I should add, no doubt they sell other drivetrains in other markets.

In the UK brochure the only 4x4 vrs is a diesel dsg?

And the ** means only available from stock?

So not yet?

According to Motorpoints info

"At the top of the range, the Octavia vRS looks to be petrol-only now – previously there were diesel and hybrid options, too. What's more, the vRS' 2.0-litre petrol engine has been boosted by 20hp to 265hp, so it should be quicker off the line. Enthusiasts may mourn the loss of the manual gearbox, though.

Later on, you'll also be able to buy an Octavia with a 204hp 2.0-litre petrol engine, which'll get an auto gearbox and four-wheel drive. It'll be the only Octavia you can buy with four-wheel drive."

Cheers all gotta admit I did some googling whilst having a toilet break :D and found similar confirmation that he's a plonker. TBH though any facelift with extra power is wounding, bigger screen and even fake leather seats is also a tough one to pretend not to care about. Hopefully it tips it over 40k cus I don't care what car I buy I won't pay a stupid surcharge to tax it. False economy for sure but still who makes these ridiculous rules and doesn't up the limit in line with car price increases.

Just map your car. Torque increase with the bhp will help. Otherwise just buy a 4x4 Superb that will put the power down with virtual cockpit and Columbus ICE
