Fuel tank pump relay switching power

Featured Replies

2006 diesel.

Can anyone tell me how the power is supplied to the switching side of the tank pump relay? I have the main power to the relay but  no power to the switching side when the ignition is turned on.

Is it supplied via just a fuse or another relay.

Location/ number of the fuse / relay would be appreciated.

Engine code or VIN will help a lot in answering this.

Check engine bay fusebox, fuse 15, 5 Amp rated.

Checked fuse. All ok. Is this the fusebox you are expecting?

Yep. That fuse and several others are fed by that 100 relay, so could be that playing up.

Ok. Thanks. Will try to test it.

I have no voltage at the fuse and 12 volts at the bottom and left terminal with the ignition on.

Are you sure that you should have?

From memory my 2006 diesel would pulse the fuel pump briefly when the ignition was turned on, other vehicles do it when the drivers door is opened, yours may be either but I dont thnk the pump will be activated with just the ignition on, the engine needs to be cranking or running.

When I fitted a new fuel filter I had to repeatedly switch the ignition to get the pump to purge the system.

Does the vehicle run or not?

That is important information that you have omitted.
