Karoq corroded Charge Pressure Control Rod

Featured Replies

My 2020 Karoq does a very low mileage - it has yet to reach 20,000 miles.  But the Engine Management System light came on, so I took it into the nearest Skoda service station.  They found that the Charge Pressure Control Rod had corroded and recommended that it be replaced.  However, when they tried to remove it, the rod broke, so they are having to replace the turbo, which is a very expensive repair.

Is it reasonable for this defect to have occurred on a car with such a low mileage ?

No, of course not.  It obviously isn't durable enough.
