VRS Leaking Rear Hatch Struts

Featured Replies

Has anyone else got the problem of leaking fluid from the hydraulic struts that help open/close the rear hatch?

Changed a few because of this.

What causes the leakage? Just wear and tear (would doubt less than 3yrs use would break them) or do seals fail?

Hi

Yes I changed a few for warranty

Is your car still in warranty?

Yes the car has just 10k on the clock and a little over a year old.

So thought I would get them changed next year.

(Keep wiping the excess oil off)

Just wondered if others had the same problem and the replacements were now leak free?:)

Get them changed under warranty, in theory 5 minute job but be very, very sure the dealer supports the tailgate when he changes them...see my threads from last year, sh.it happens:-
