I’ve just fitted a new battery on my Superb business diesel estate 2016.

 

I checked about radio code on this forum, it doesn’t have one, and radio working fine.

 

However, lots of warning symbols and things not working.

 

Tyre loss indicator. But says “tyre loss currently unavailable “ when I try to reset it.

Park pilot not available. (Never used it anyway)

Front assist not available.

Warning symbol for “power steering/steering lock/kessy system.

Error ACC.

Error Autohold.

 

And probably more!

 

So not sure what I’ve done, is it something that needs re-setting maybe?

 

Any help gratefully received.

Take it for a drive and they should all disappear. 

Don't panic its normal behaviour after changing a battery . After a few minutes of driving the faults will slowly disappear. You should use vcds/obd11 to programme the new battery in though. It'll still work but not at it's full capacity as the battery management system will still think the old battery is still in use.

turn the wheel from centered to lock right, then all the way to the left, then to the center again before driving anywhere. See if that helps.

 

(i had exactly this after we removed the amp etc from my car on Tuesday. Turns out the clock spring position got lost because of the temporary loss of power. going from lock to lock solved it without VCDS and in about 1 minute).

Just drove half a mile down the road and all cleared.

 

With the vid/obd11 to program the new battery.

Assume I have to take it to a dealer to do this?

Where there would obviously be a charge, is it important to get it done?

Any decent indy would likely have one to hand. A friendly one might do it for free, or maybe no more than £20. It's a 5 minute job. Dealers often have a minimum charge just to plug it in.

Some say yes, some say no.

the car should be told about the new battery to ensure it charges it correctly, in terms of voltage. Assuming you replaced like with like (an AGM with an AGM) then the issue isn't that serious but I would still get it done to ensure maximum battery life.
