I can only hope our experiences together will live up to what has gone before...

(Just sharing an emotional car-change moment :D )

Well the old one has obviously been well looked after (assuming they are recent pics!)

Enjoy the new one

Top 2 this month.

I feel like I'm really going to miss the thing, but I suspect that will be wiped out once the new girl is run in...

I felt a pang of regret as I drove out of the garage past my faithful mk1..we had some fine jouneys together

it changed about a minute later when I booted the mk2 in 2nd and 3rd....it really is a change...it seems much faster through the gears..3rd in particular makes my eyes water!

Your old one is exactly like mine was, even to the plate - they were nice, weren't they. But don't you love the handling and gearchange on the new one, by comparison?

I only test drove a standard 2.0 fsi...

From that, though, I could tell it was going to be a better car all round (except for, perhaps, road noise...?)

I'll not be gunning the new one until properly run in. And I suspect I'll be running this one into the ground as, being the 5th brand new, main dealer private purchase car I've bought in a row, I need to calm down a bit... (I'm sure I though that 3 years ago...)

That's what I have now - perfectly happy with it!!

That seems to be governed by the choice of tyres apparently

Me too, but I still change them when the finanacial pain eases!!!

more road noise through the tyres on the 18's definitely..my answer is to turn up the much superior new stereo!
