MySkoda app 5.8.4 IV charging data

Featured Replies

For a couple of days last week my app was showing no data at all.

I updated the app and is now on version 5.8.4 dated 26th April 2024.

The screen layout is different.

I have to go via the 'total mileage' to see how many miles I have estimated on the battery alone.

It no longer shows a % of battery level.  It no longer says whether it is charging or not.  It no longer gives access to the charging plans (or departure time etc).

Am I doing something wrong or have they mucked up the latest version of the app?

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Has your subscription run out?  Pretty sure the skoda setup is the same as VW where the remote access to many things is free for 3 years then costs.  Your car being 2021 could well be over the 3 year mark.

Hiya. Thanks for your reply.

Nope. I did the one month free trial then subscribed for a year only 6 weeks ago.

I can see lots of stuff just not the detailed charging info after the update on 26th April.

Very frustrating!

I've been using the My Skoda Essentials app to do all the bits mentioned. Last week it stopped showing anything other than the picture of the car at the top.

Assuming it was me, I then realised there is also a My Skoda app, separate to the "essentials" one. I grabbed that, and although it's laid out differently, everything is there, including stuff I didn't have before like cost of running calculations.

Yesterday I looked again at my old essentials app, and it's all back except for the charging info or the ability to plan, start or stop charging.

I'm sticking with the non essentials version for now, but will keep checking in case my preferred app starts again eventually.

Ah this is what I saw too!  A blank screen.

Hence me updating the app!

I'll have a look at the other app that you mentioned.

Cheers!

Edit.

I loaded the Non-essenrials app and as you said it shows the full info and allows you to chose a charging plan etc.

I assume they have made an error when they updated the essentials app.

I've emailed them and am awaiting a response.

I'll continue to check the essentials app when they update it as that had a better layout.

Thanks again for the info.

I rather suspect they will say it's not coming back to the essentials app, because "a load of reasons that really are about saving them money somewhere".

I hope I'm wrong, though this new to me non essentials one is growing on me I think. I can't imagine why there were ever two in the first place.

So if you get any answer, let us know.

I'm pleased to report that the My Skoda Essentials app latest version 5.8.5 has the missing functions reinstated!

Skoda had emailed me previously and had tried to call me a number of times.  I can't fault their service in this matter.

Good to see things are back to normal!

Yes indeed. Let me be the first to ever type these words on the internet.

I was wrong.

It is nice when we get good service even though that seems to be rare these days!

Thanks again for the pointer towards the alternative app.

Long live the essentials app 😁🤣
