Oil pressure switch

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have my oil pressure warning light illuminated, there is enough oil in the engine and the oil pressure gauge shows 40-50 psi of pressure.

Also engine sounds fine running,do you agree with my thought that the pressure sensor is kaput?

Probably, or the wire to the switch is broken. Which engine does you mk2 have?

My car has the 1.2 3 cylinder engine.

The wiring looks ok on the switch.

It went off for a while yesterday but is on again today, still good pressure showing on the gauge.

If you unplug the 1 wire connector from the switch, is there oil inside it?

That's usually a giveaway that the switch is failing.

Presumably you mean an external pressure gauge plumbed in in place of the switch? Or?
