1.5Tsi Turbo Issue - 2019 Octavia Estate

Featured Replies

My 2019 Octavia bought 2020 went in for 40k service and MOT.  On return it seemed marginally down on power but this in constant traffic and town speed limits. As soon as it went anywhere near open roads it was obviously seriously down on power. No other symptoms, no warning lights. No undue noises, etc.  Smooth idle.

Completed a 60 mile journey (with little overtaking possible due power loss) but it still reached 65mph on motorway "eventually". Poor acceleration, more throttle needed. Drinking fuel (more than 10mpg less than normal) No indications/symptoms other than that.

Following day return journey, and three miles in it brought up the Exhaust (Emission) Control Warning light.  Down on power same level, no other symptoms.

Garage took it back. light still on, said they found an error for "boost pressure regulation", then found and "O" ring had been put back out of place, kinked, in "breather pipe to turbocharger". Replaced and returned.

After one day of two 5 mile return trips, Its now the time of the week for the 60 mile overnight trip again.

And it did EXACTLY as first trip. Outward journey very down on acceleration power as soon as out of traffic, no warning indication.  Return trip following day three miles in at a few hundred metres most from previous place (level dual carriageway) up comes the light and stays on.

Light on following day from engine start.

AND........ its back with them.  AGAIN

SO...............

Anyone else had similar?  Cause?  Solution?

How does the warning not alight even when the issue is clearly there for so long before it does light up?

Down to them to fix their mess.

?

Did it get the new spark plugs @ 40,000 miles as per, schedule, guidelines, recommendation, specification?

Yes, 🙂

Hope you are sorted now.  I hope they checked that their useless fitter has the correct plugs in with the correct gap (yes pre gapped but if you knock them then the gap can close.).     ? So no software updates they never told you they did,?      Were you told that no need for a cambelt change until 180,000 miles or many years from now?
