Start/Stop unavailable + Travel Assist Unavailable

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

I'll tell you what's happening to me in these "first" days with my new car, I don't get if these things are tolerable or if I should start asking myself some questions...

Model: Karoq SportLine 1.5 TSI DSG, delivered at the beginning of May. To date I traveled approximately 1200km.

Yesterday: I get into the car at the end of the day, turn the ignition on, after about 500meters "Travel Assist unavailable" pops up on the screen.

I pull over to check that there aren't any dirty or obstructed sensors...everything looks clean.

I turn the car off and on again, everything is gone.

This morning I get in, turn ignition on and in the first 10-15 seconds I seem to hear a sort of hissing sound ("low pitch").

In that moment I don't understand whether I'm hearing that in my head or not, nor do I understand if it could be coming from the AC vents or the engine bay.

In the meantime (as per usual) I switch to Eco mode and deactivate Start/Stop.

Literally as I was doing that, "Start/Stop fault" + "Travel Assist not available" appear on the screen.

At that point I also noticed that the engine's minimum rpm were slightly “disturbed"/unstable.

I stand still for about 10-15 seconds to see what happens next. The revs do stabilize in a few seconds...a that point I decide to put it in R and move out of the garage in the meantime.

Not knowing what to do next, I turn the car off and on again, aeverything gone as if nothing had happened. No hissing no nothing.

Has anyone had similar experiences?

At first, I was thinking about taking it back to the dealership so they can have a look but since I don’t have any persistent error message, I am pretty sure they won’t even take the time to check..

The error may be logged on the car system, so it may be worth taking it to the ealer. In the meantime try to get photos or video when the errors are on screen.

I would hope not to get these errors again but I will definitely record some evidence in case that happens again.
