I found this by accident, whilst trying to setup sky by broadband.

You can now setup your sky+ box to record through your mobile! Its really smart, finally catching up with my old tivo box. Just need to be able to take video from it and transfer it to my ipod!

The sky customer services page says its not out yet! But here's how to do it!

1. Select interactive
   
2. sky customer services
   
3. green for A to Z
   
4. Then 7 for P/S
   
5. Scroll to 'Remote Record'

You need to have a sky user name from SKY.com

Apparently the information to record is set through the sat signal, and doesn't use the telephone!

You can also do it by sending an sms message, but this costs 50p a go!

That's a superb find! I've always said they should do something like that, it seems so obvious - im sure the tech behind it is quite interesting but it really does add some good value to the Sky+ service for me. Have they released the interface on the main website for it yet or just the mobile one?

yeah its a nice touch and another = for sky over tivo but have you figured out how to add programmes to your sky + planner via the 'my sky' facility on sky.com. i just can't work it out but the sky magazine says its possible.

don't think you can do it via the website as yet, the my tv guide is just for the website, bit pointless. But I assume they will be intergrating it with the record function.
