Scala Monte Carlo with Gyeon Ceramic Paint Protection

Featured Replies

Having picked up our new Scala Monte Carlo on Friday I wanted to protect the fabulous Velvet Red colour against the usual elements and sun fading.

Dan, a Gyeon specialist from Dynamic Details Ltd in Basildon, Essex, did a fantastic job giving the car a mirrorlike finish.

The paintwork has a full ceramic coating plus top coat, the wheels have been fully protected along with the brake callipers painted red and Gyeon coated. All the windows and panoramic roof have also been treated.

He also PPF protected the top of the rear bumper which should help with wear and tear when getting things in and out of the boot.

I can’t wash the car for 2 weeks, however on the way home the heavens opened and the hydrophobic properties were amazing, the rain just flew off the car leaving it almost dry by the time I put it away.

Stunning, nice to see someone showing some real love for their paint.

Thanks.

It certainly makes cleaning the car a breeze. I use my RaceGlaze DI water for final rinse and can either just leave it to dry naturally without any water marks or use an EGO leaf blower with stubby attached to blow off any excess water. The Gyeon coating is extremely hydrophobic, so not much sticks.

Sounds good, I've always used CarPro CQuartz 3.0 myself.

Gave my Scala a fresh 3 stage machine polish with Auto Finesse pro compounds and pads in March just gone followed by CarPro CQuartz for paint, CarPro DLux for wheels plastics and rubbers, and Soft99 Glaco for glass.

I've seen a lot of people switching to Gtechniq which is a claimed 5 year protection or even a Titan Reign which is 9 year.  But in all honesty I like the process of doing it every 2/3 years so will stick to the CarPro.  My Scala is 4.5 years old with 42k miles on the clock and the paint still looks phenomenal so it's obviously doing what it's supposed to.

Amazing looking Scala and so much more than just paint protection.

it’s mind boggling just how many products there are to choose from. CarPro has an excellent range, I love their Darkside Tyre dressing.

I really have to limit myself to how many I try, as space, budget and wife have to be taken into account. This is not helped by Pan the Organiser’s new CLEAN range coming to the UK very shortly.
