Fabia MK3 Monte Carlo dip beams not working

Featured Replies

Hi, I've searched the forums but didn't find a solution to my dip beam problem. Both main headlight dip beams are not working on 2015 Fabia MK3. High beam works and the bulbs are ok I've checked them.

I've tried a replacement dashboard switch and that's not solved it

Struggling to find which fuses I need to check, could it be a relay if so which one and where or something else. I seen people have had this problem with MK1 and MK2.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Have you got the 2 x H4 bulb or the 4 x H7 bulb set up for your headlights?

Fuses 4, 8 & 14?

Thanks for the reply, the dip and main beam is 2 H7 bulbs. Main beam works. Dip beam doesn't.

So the two outer H7 bulbs are the dipped ones, and the two inner H7 bulbs are the main beam bulbs.

Have you tried to swap the dipped bulb with the main beam bulb?

Is there any voltage in the double connection for the outer dipped beam bulbs?

Thanks. AG Falco

The H7 bulbs does dip and main beam, there is just one bulb each side that does both..main beam works..

That's an H4 bulbs with three connectors on the back, and two filaments inside, like this:-

EB484 Bulbs 12v-100/80w P43T H4 CAP - OFF ROAD - Car Auto Van Driving Light Bulb Main Headlight, Halogen Headlamp Lamp

Are you able to post a close up picture of the filaments of the bulbs? Bear in mind there will be two in the glass if @AGFalco's statement is correct which I don't doubt it will be. We might be able to give you a better idea if we could see them.

It's a H7 not the H4

How many wires are on the connector that fits on the bulb/bulbs?

What about a photo of your headlight units?

See below for the two types of headlight units:-

So back to my question?

It's a 2015 MK3 Fabia,

I've replaced the bulbs.

Bought another used  dashboard switch to eliminate that.

I'll check the fuses suggested above tomorrow.

Everything else works. Just not dip beam.

Is there a relay somewhere.

Many Thanks 👍 🙏 😊

You DON'T have the type of headlight unit that you have circled.

You have the 4 H7 headlight projector bulb type units with the LED DRL / side lights.

The two inner ones that you can see are the main beam ones in the reflector.

The two outer ones are behind the projector lens are the two dipped beam ones.

You cannot see the bulbs from the front of the car.

You need to remove cover E to get to the dipped beam bulbs.

See my finger pointing to the drivers side cover here.

These are underneath the wing / bonnet area as opposed to in the engine bay.

Thanks AG Falco, that makes sense now. Cheers Paul

Some people find them hard to change.

There is a cover inside the inner wheel arch plastic liners that pulls off.

This can help with changing them.

Shout if you get stuck.

Thanks, other than the faff of changing them that's problem solved. Cheers 🍻 love a simple solution. You live and learn. Just a lambda sensor and front drop links to do now. This is the most difficult car I've ever had to change the bulbs.

They're not getting any easier that's for sure! Glad you got it sorted. Sorry I wasn't much help!🙄😁
