Brake caliper refresh

Featured Replies

Car is nearly 9 years old and the calipers sure look it.  So wheels off and with a combination of drill and Dremel with a wire brush took all the rust off followed by 5 coats of UHT Silver paint. Didn't bother masking off the pads as they are due for replacement.  Happy with the results and with new rotors, dust shield and pads going on shortly will look much fresher.

Christ, I can see why you wanted to replace your brake dust covers now.

Do you live near the sea like in the sea? 😂

Strangely enough no, but the car spent its first two years in Scotland where are the roads are heavily salted in winter so that could be the problem.

Is it an ex Arnold Clark? I find anything from Scotland or Arnold Clarke are the worst 😢

I’m sure an actual chocolate fire guard serves more purpose

Would certainly make better eating.

They don't make em like they used to, made from rusty metal I think and just enough paint to cover the edges
