Vent control issues

Featured Replies

Hmmmm, spent a good 20 minutes taking my entire centre console off my dash so I could get to the twiddly bit for the "foot/screen/face etc" button which had come off. Turns out it had popped off on the spindly bit on the vent inside the dash and not on the control unit itself. Much hand scrabbling later I found the aforementioned twiddly bit inside the dash and blindly managed to get the other end of this flexible rod on it - Rebuilt centre console and was chuffed to again have the ability to change the direction of the airflow.

By the time I got home it had come off again!  :thumbdwn: :o

Anything I can do to keep this thing on the spindly bit inside the dash? I'm pretty sure its popped off there again. It seemed to go back on very solidly, but obviously some form of lug / retainer has snapped and its not remaining on it. I'm thinking P.U. adhesive as always.....

If its broken then id replace it. Sticking it may well stick the mechnism up.
